Location: Aswan is a city in the south of Egypt on the shores of the Nile River, some 680km south of Cairo, just down the Aswan High Dam and Lake Nasser, Aswan is far more relaxed and smaller than Cairo and Luxor.

Population: population is 275,000.

Climate: Aswan has a gorgeous winter climate, Aswan is one of the hottest, sunniest and driest cities in the world and is a popular sun resort from November through to March, Average high temperatures remain above 23 °C Summers are long, during the coldest month of the year while average low temperatures remain above 8 °C. Winters are short.

Transportation: the tourists can travel to aswan through Plane (Aswan is served by Aswan International Airport), Train, car, bus, boat, Taxi are available.

History: Philae Temple: is located in one of the most important monumental sites in Aswan “The Nubian City“, it was built by the Ancient Egyptians for the goddess Isis, the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus, It started by Ptolemy II and completed by the Roman Emperors.

Aswan High Dam: which is an embankment dam that was built in Aswan between 1960 and 1970, The Egyptian President “Gamal Abd El-Nasser” was the first one to call for the construction of such an important dam after the revolution of July 1952, Aswan high dam was a great Egyptian achievement, it has a positive impact on the economic and social aspect.

Abu Simple Temple: located in the Nubian village in southern Egypt about 230 km southwest of Aswan near the borders of Sudan, On the entrance of the temple, there are figures of Ramses II that are 20 meters tall. Small figures of Ramesses’ children, his queen, “Nefertari”, and his mother, “Muttuy” are carved around the statues. There is graffiti inscribed , Abu Simbel temples can be divided into two main temples (The Great Temple of Ramses II), (The Small Temple of Queen Nefertari).

The Nubian Village: The Nubian Village is inhabited by indigenous Nubian people, who are known for their customs, traditions, beliefs, architecture, history, and even the way of their life and places where they live that is mixed with lovely colorful places and unconventional clothes, The lovely people of Nubia are the ethnolinguistic group and they came from southern Egypt and northern Sudan. They live mainly today in Luxor & Aswan  they were famous for their horse-riding skills and their impressive marksmanship with bows and arrows.

Edfu Temple: It is located in Edfu city, which is located 60 km north of Aswan on the west bank of the Nile River in Upper Egypt, Edfu temple was the center of the cult of a triad of gods. It was established during the Ptolemaic Kingdom between 237 and 57 BC, it was began during the reign of Ptolemy III and it was finished during the reign of Ptolemy IV , Edfu temple has one of the amazing pylons among all of the Egyptian temples, which is 37m high and decorated with battle scenes, representing King Ptolemy VIII smiting his enemies before the god Horus, There is a Nilometer, which is considered to be the most important element of the temple as it was used to measure the water level of the Nile and a chapel, which was dedicated to goddess Nut.

Religious: mainly Muslim, small amount Coptic Christian.

Language: the main language is arabic.
